Section 56
In Case Of Equality Of Votes
If, after the completion of the counting of votes of the election to any Member of the Local Body, Two or more candidates receive equal number of valid votes, the Election Officer shall decide by drawing lots amongst the candidates receiving the equal number of votes. The candidate who is so selected by lot shall be deemed to have received one more vote.
